Many people prefer low-carb food. This can provide health benefits,
but reduces the possibilities for a varied diet.
Pasta made from
wheat flour has a very high carbohydrate content, over 30%, and
should be avoided. Potatoes with their 17% carb content are a better
option, but are not suitable as spaghetti if that's what you
fancy.
Squash, on the other hand, is great with only 3%
carbohydrate content, and I would say that it actually tastes better
than pasta.
Use one medium-sized squash per person. Cut it in
half and use a cheese grater and cut thin strips in a frying pan with
a little oil. Wok for a few minutes, and then, finito!
Sauce
Sledge Chef's personal favorite is tasty and extremely easy to make:
- A can of chopped
tomatoes
- A can of beans in
tomato sauce
- 2 onions.
Boil for 5 minutes.
However, in this video a more advanced solution prepared by the assistant who has more refined habits is used. Maybe even healthier also, in this case.
- Tomato pulp
- Olive oil
- Onion
- Sweet potato
- Carrots
- Celery root
- Parsley root
- Minced lamb meat
- Garlic
- Spices as desired.
Stir in a pot and let boil for a while. As my clever assistant says, use your fantasy and stuff whatever you fancy into it.
